Student Council
A Student Council is formed every year that can involve a student from every class from Year 3 to Year 6. The students from each class are voted by their class to be in the Student Council. The students who form the Student Council then choose a President, Secretary and Treasurer to run the meeting.
The motto of the school is to Consider Others.
The vision of the Student Council is:
1. To investigate ways in which Student Council money could support the majority of students in the school.
2. To donate and support causes that are relevant to the school students.
3. To ensure that similar funds are available for the following years student council through fundraising.
Through the Student Council the students in the school have a voice to be able to express ideas according to the three goals listed. They are also able to express areas of concerns that may have been brought to their attention in class and these can be referenced and passed on to an ELT member who is present in the meeting.
The Student Council has a budget that they need to manage and these funds need to be spent during the calendar year to support the current students, but it is also recommended that fundraising takes place to support Student Council events in future years.
All meetings have an agenda and follow a protocol. The Student Council leadership works with the BSM of the school when purchase to ensure Departmental processes are followed and to allow the students the chance to experience running a small enterprise.
